
Three people, including a child, died today, and two others were injured in a horrific collision on the old Eastern Desert Road in Upper Egypt.
The accident occurred in front of Bani Khalid village, which is part of Samalut in Minya.
Ambulances and police quickly responded to the scene. Investigations revealed a collision between a transport truck and a private car, caused by excessive speed and improper overtaking.
The injured were taken to Samalut Model Hospital, where the bodies of the deceased were also transported.
Both vehicles involved in the crash have been impounded pending further investigation by the Public Prosecution.
